I love art; drawing and painting, photography and photo
editing, just making beautiful things in general. My husband loves building things, whether to
make our house beautiful, helping others, or at his job as an aerospace
engineer. He also loves to joke and
laugh. We both laugh a lot. Our two boys love making a mess, laughing,
exploring, and being active. They like
to be involved, learn how to bake and help in the garden. Our kids keep us busy!
We all love being adventurous! So much so that we bought our first house on
a good feeling from a different state, having not considered the location it
was in until we drove over night, (11 hours with kids!), to tour the house with
a real estate agent. We had an accepted
offer a week later, moved in half a month after that. Half an acre, backed up to farm fields on the
outskirts of town in northern Utah.
Here we choose to put down our roots and make this place our
home.
We have mountains in all directions, seasons of hot and
cold, and most of our half acre is empty and waiting for us to make it
amazing! Our 2022 Spring plans include a
fence, large raised garden beds, espalier apple, pear, and peach trees, and
grape vines. Our 2021/2022 Winter plans
include exploring the mountains via snowshoes or skis, training our new Border
Collie puppy, Zoey, and making the interior of our house cozy, beautiful, and
us!
Autumn is currently underway, and we have a few interior
projects going on, but most of our time is taken up by kid school and
activities, which we are excited to share as they occur! Our home is old, but we love it! We have made discoveries in the walls and
floors and hope to make this cozy little brick house shine. As projects occur I hope to share them, our processes, and our feelings on them.
Our lives are CRAZY, MESSY, HILARIOUS, and WONDERFUL! It is the life of a stay-at-home mom and
artist. The life of a ‘rocket scientist’,
house flipper, and daddy. The life of
two energetic boys living in the country and exploring with their dog!
In this blog I hope to share our story, our photos and
projects, and to ensure the enjoyment thereof I will be doing so at a leisurely
pace, no advertisements (I’m not in it for the money), and it will be, in
essence, our family’s journal.
Else the memories, good or bad, might be lost to time.
